A Hotlist is a very useful tool to use in any classroom. Instead of spending hours in the classroom searching for interactive websites, students can use a hotlist that the teacher has created for their class. I find hotlists to be a good organization tool, and a safe way to use great websites on the internet in the classroom.
The hotlist I created would be for a grade 3, science unit on animals. This is an example of my hotlist. Creating this hotlist would allow me to feel relaxed, knowing that my students are using great educational websites.
A Lesson plan that I would create would be, to educate my students on animal habitats. After students finished their assignments, I would allow them to go onto the hotlist I created for them and play the interactive games. Students will have a lot of fun while they are learning. I would book the computer lab for these activities. If I have a few computers in my classroom, I would have different students on the computers throughout different subjects. I would display a sheet, showing the students, what day and subject they can go on the computers. By keeping track of the students that got to use the computers will allow me to make sure every student gets the same amount of time using them.
